Summer Music in the Courtyard-Bowen Zheng
Bowen Zheng is a Shanghai-born classical guitarist who brings a unique blend of artistry, intellect, and empathy to his music. Bowen has performed in masterclasses for many of today’s leading guitarists, including David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Sergio Assad, Judicaël Perroy, and Marcin Dylla. His performances are distinguished by their emotional depth and narrative cohesion, offering audiences a profound and memorable musical experience.
Bowen has performed across the U.S., with recent appearances at venues such as An Die Musik (Baltimore), The Rosette (Austin) through Austin Classical Guitar, and the Aguado Guitar Concerts series. He was selected as a winner of the 2023 Ex-Aequo Emerging Artists Initiative, leading to the premiere of a new work by Sergio Assad and a featured concert at The Rosette. He has also collaborated with the South Bay Guitar Society in San Jose to bring classical guitar to Bay Area communities and currently serves as its Event Director and a voting member on the Board of Directors.
