‘Tai Chi with Nelson Ng’

Description Join us for a weekly Tai Chi session with Nelson Ng! In this weekly class, participants will learn the basic principles and the philosophy behind Tai Chi, gaining flexibility and a better sense of balance, through slow and gentle movement. Nelson started learning Chen’s Tai Chi in 1989 from Master Gene Chen, who was a disciple of Grandmaster of Feng ZhiQiang. Nelson has been teaching since 2014. This class is free and open to beginners as well as those who have previous Tai Chi experience. People of all ages are welcome. You must sign in upon arrival.

Portuguese Storytime

Enjoy nursery rhymes, movement and stories with Laura Cláes from A Casa Feita de Palavras. Non-Portuguese speakers will benefit from exposure to the language through literature and nursery rhymes, as well as experiencing the rich culture and traditions.
‘Gear Up! Designing for the Earth’

Description Join us for a hands-on exploration of robotics and the design thinking process! In this five-week program, we will be learning how to interview, brainstorm, and make as we build solutions to real problems in climate change and sustainability. Participants will practice hands-on engineering and learn what it’s like to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Walk away with your very own prototype and a newfound excitement for engineering! Program hosted by members of Gatorbotics, Castilleja High School ‘s competitive FRC robotics team, and featuring special guests from local FRC teams each week. Recommended for ages 7-11. ‘Sunday STEAM’

‘Drop in every fourth Sunday at 1pm for a new STEAM adventure, from robots to engineering to science to making. Supplies will be provided but may be limited and will be available while they last. The monthly activities are TBD. For July, we will make catapults and cotton ball launchers and learn about potential energy and kinetic energy. Free.
